The Benefits of Mind Mapping
Welcome to this long overdue blog entry. Beginning today, we embark on a new journey together to achieve personal independence. During our journey, we’ll need a mind map that will serve as our compass, a little bit of inspiration and a whole lot of hope. Along the way, you’ll learn how to confront your fears, understand their purpose and eventually overcome them. And, once you overcome them, you’ll be able to use mind mapping as a guide to help lead you to future success.
When I started my journey many years ago, mind mapping helped me navigate the treacherous terrain of vast unknowns, especially after I learned that I had ADHD. Now, as a co-active life coach, I want to use this online platform to reach out to those with ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome and high-functioning Autism in the Orange County area, and help them navigate their futures with mind mapping.
For those of you who don’t know, mind mapping is similar to brainstorming. It’s a way of helping you organize your thoughts, so you can organize your life and get ahead. A mind map is a diagram with a main topic in the center and related subtopics branching out of it.
Here’s how mind mapping works. Let’s use a hypothetical job search as an example. The main topic in this scenario is finding a new job. The subtopics would include: create a resume, contact references, find a job that matches skills, check out job listings, research different companies and so on. In no time, you’ll realize that mind mapping makes the impossible possible.
Together, we can take on all the unknowns, which cause fears and results in unnecessary anxiety, and transform them into knowns. Once we tackle all these big problems and break them down into manageable parts, you’ll see that there’s really nothing to fear at all. With mind mapping, you’ll be able to find practical solutions as you continue on your journey.
If you’re in Orange County and you’re in need of a life coach as you travel along your journey, I’d like to offer my services. I’ll be there every step of the way.
