Coaching is all about helping you determine and reach your goals, work to your strengths, and create the life you want. Unlike therapy, life and career coaching for teens and college students with ADHD or Asperger’s does not look at your past. Instead, it focuses on where you’re at right now, where you want to be, and finding ways to help you overcome whatever is getting in your way to make it happen.
As your coach, Rodney will create a safe, comfortable and confidential environment, and help you find direction for yourself. Although he’ll joke around and keep it fun, Rodney will always focus on helping you moving forward.
A Proven Approach
Rodney uses the “Co-Active” coaching methodology, which recognizes the importance of both “being” and “doing.” It’s not all about action, action, action. You also need to process and reflect on where you’re at now.
You and Rodney will work together on the things that are most important to you. This can include:
- Gaining time management skills that simplify your life – Learn an easy system called Getting Things Done (GTD) that’s proven to help people with ADHD or Asperger’s to organize themselves so they can get things done.
- Learning proven ways to overcome executive function challenges – ADHD and Asperger’s can make things like organizing, prioritizing and planning difficult. Let Rodney show you how to make technology your “secret weapon” in overcoming these challenges.
- Exploring career options that fit you – What type of work and work environment do you want? Do you want to pursue a professional career or would something hands-on, such as a trade, suit you better? What are your values and interests? How can these ultimately become a career or a business for you? Rodney will help you explore all of this, and more.
- Getting expert assistance with entrepreneurship – If you decide that you want to start a business and create your own career, Rodney has the experience and expertise to provide the guidance and advice that you need.
